I was wondering the proper way to use a wet saw to cut ceramic tile. Do I cut it glaze up or glaze down? Additionally, if I cut all the way through in one cut, it always chips the corner where the cut ends. Is there a way to do it without chipping the tile? Any help would be appreciated.

Glaze side up and very slowly at the end of the cut

Those economy wet saws that look like a small table saw and the little 4" blade, makes better cuts with the tile upside down.

A conventional wet saw with a slide table, cut with the glaze up.

When you get to the end of your cut, you can try either, letting the tile loose with your hand and not really holding it tight to the tray and go slow. This allows the blade to not bind one side or the other. OR when you get to the end of your cut. Push in on both sides of the tile, to pinch it into the blade and push the tray slow.

If the blade gets warped, wierd things happen.
