We have a 4' (deep) x 6'(wide) x 2'-3'(tall) concrete stoop outside our front door

It used to have concrete steps but those steps were in such bad shape that we had the pavers remove them when they laid asphalt so now the aforementioned stoop is sitting on an asphalt surface

The ground was never level and so the asphalt is not level. On the one side, it comes up higher and so the stoop is 2' tall, on the other side of the stoop, the asphalt slopes down so that the stoop is 3' tall

So now we want to add steps to the stoop. If we pour concrete steps, there's no way to secure a wood form to the asphalt without drilling into the asphalt which I'd rather not do.
If we do wood steps, it would require a miracle of precision to get it right considering the slope.

That's all we could think of, does anyone else have any other ideas or suggestions?

Thanks much,

-MC

Well, with wood, it won't require a miracle, just some cutting to allow for the slope in where they meet the asphalt at different height.....

and as for concrete forms, what difference would it make if you had to drill a hole the asphalt for a something to hold the form ?
Personally, I just use some 20-30p nails and nail into the asphalt temporarily......then you can fill either hole with a tube of black asphalt cement like is used for roofing......the hole would be so small, it would hurt nothing if you did nothing......but that would hide them entirely.....
