Just bought a new Samsung DVD-P231 Player. Everything worked fine at the default settings. My son accessed the Setup Menu and inadvertently changed the Video Output setting from S-video to 525p. Now I have no picture and can't view the menu to change it back to S-Video. How can I correct this? Thank you.

You might try unplugging it and plugging it back in; beyond that you may have to call Samsung's tech support line.

when in doubt, read the directions.

Racraft: duuh, gee thanks but I read the directions word-for-word.
tow guy: I did wind up calling technical support. Turns out the S-Video/525i/525P setting was previously selected via an external switch on my model. In mid-run on this model that switch was deleted. The fix for my problem required holding down the stop and play buttons for 10 seconds which erased all user selected settings. This information is not in the directions, Racraft. Samsung is actually going to issue a technical service bulletin (maybe they will name it after my son!).

Chip,
I did not mean to offend you. Sorry for doing so.
I have found over the years that very few people bother to read instruction manuals, or even know where they are.
I have also found that very few instruction manuals are missing important pieces of information like this.
99 times out of 100, or even more often, questions like yours can be answered with the instruction manual.
