I am wanting to tie in two rooms after removing a wall and I think that faux wood beams would look great and would tie the two rooms together. There is a smallbeam seperating the rooms now. so I thought that old enlish beam ceilings would do the trick. but they are so expensive. I was wondering how I could get the look without the expense. I have 8 foot ceilings. I thought maybe I could find out how to make faux beams myself. Does anyone have any ideas?

I done this to my house seemed work good. I went and bought 1 by 6 pine board hammered the heck out of it then stained it cherry color this made it look like rustic and gave it a very good look.
