Does anyone know if there there are any baseboard diffusers with a depth greater than 2-3/4"?

I'm in the process of remodeling the bedrooms in my house. The old carpet was pulled up and the wood floors refinished. Also as part of the process I'd decided to replaced the old, painted-over baseboard diffusers. Imagine my surprise when I fitted the new 18" diffusers and there was a narrow but noticeable gap between the diffuser and the cutout in the floor. The 2-3/4" depth of the diffuser wasn't great enough. I need diffusers that are almost 3" in depth to cover the gap.

Does anyone manufacture such a diffuser? I check various sites on the Internet an only found diffusers 2-3/4" in depth.

Is there another work around I should consider?

thanx in advance
