I have a Sony DVP-NS400D. I can create VCD disks on a CDR on my computer and they will play fine, but when I create a SVCD and load it it says there's no disk in the drive. I did a Google search but all I could find was buying info. Does this unit not support SVCD? Can Sony do a firmware update or something so that it would support it? I really don't want to buy a new unit, but video quality on VCD is not that great.

i dont know for sure... but I looked at the advertisements and the specs for that unit online and they just say DVD and VCD.. If it played SVCD's, then it would usually say so, because its an advertising point...

whats your User Manual say?
