How can I strip or clean wood on upholstery furniture trimmed in wood?

If you want to strip the wood, remove the upholstery. If you want to clean the wood, take care not to get the cleaner on the fabric. These pieces are finished before upholstery is installed.

It can be done if your careful.Often I use a piece of cardboard etc.and place it against the fabric.Other times I use masking tape.If there is decorative trim such as gimp,you could remove it and replace with new gimp after.
