Can blown insulation be re-used? I am doing work in my attic that requires me to remove the blown insulation that is currently in place. Can it be redistributed in between the ceiling joists at a later date or am I better off replacing it with new insulation?

Gee , you'd think you could, it's shredded paper and it's treated with boric acid to deter bugs and mold. I blew the stuff in my walls and attic this last winter. big bag was about $7.00 at Lowes, if you got 20 bags they loaned you the blower for free. otherwise it was 20 bucks a day. Any left over insulation I returned as long as the bag was sealed. It worked out well for me.
Hope this helped. good luck.

If you have to move insulation for some reason, it is perfectly acceptable to put it back where it was.
