OK- I know this sounds rather strange-
Our town is hosting an outdoor haunted hayride and we are building some props. I got elected to build a guillotine. I was able to scrounge up some old wood posts and build a frame. I've attached a 2x6 piece of lumber to the rope to provide some weight- I need some ideas.... The lumber "blade"- gets hung up when I release the rope- It wedges on it's way down- I was thinking of some kind of "track" system- ANyone have any ideas??

how tall is this? How far does the "blade" have to travel?

right now about 7 feet tall. Blade has to travel about 5 feet.

Is it too late to try putting wheels / rollers between the blade and the track?
