just pulled up some nasty carpet in the kitchen and found a nice floor under it but it has glue stuck on it. I tried laquer thinner with a little success but it still leaves the white a yellow color. what can I use to completely remove the glue.

you could try lighter fluid if it is vinyl, if it is linoleum, you have a p.h. concern there. The yellowing may be discoloration, if that is the case, you will not be able to get it off.
