My AC runs and is fairly ok, then it will turn off. We check breaker, nothing. Then it will turn on after awhile!!!

You didn't say whether just the air handler shut off or both halves of the system (I'm assuming a standard split system). If everything's dropping out, my first guess would be to check the thermostat.
Loose wires or a wire broken inside the insulation can produce this effect. Outright failure of the thermostat is also a possibility if it's older.
Beyond that, you may be dealing with a relay or contactor that gets balky when it gets hot, and has to cool off to function again.
Anything beyond those easy guesses isn't readily diagnosed by distance.

You might want to check your contact switch. If your unit is an older model, sometimes the contact switch can stick, causing the comptressor to stay on even when your unit is off. Try turning off your A/C and see if it is still running. If it is, check the contact switch in the unit itself.
