From caseons to staplers
Hi all. This is my first post, so please forgive any mistakes.
1. So, would 1/4 crown staples work for stapling insulation to to studs in walls as well as the roof? These air staplers are significantly cheaper than the >1/4in crown staplers, and much more readily available. Does anyone have any experience using this gauge of staple on tongue and groove flooring, or would a brad nailer be better suited for this task?
2. Do caseon concrete supports benefit from vertically aligned rebar? Do the pillars require a base(think of an upside down capital T)? Would a steel beam be preferable to a 4x6 for a 15ft span(vertical)? Will rebar driven into the ground weaken the pillar over time due to corrosion, or will an epoxy coating or rust inhibitor negate this question?
3. Is there any major strength or stabiltiy loss using clipped head nails for framing?
Any advice would helpful. This is my first home and the grade of the property is going to mandate some serious improvistion.
