I would like to buy a refrigerant leak detector but cannot decide between the UltraSonic leak detectors which listen for high pitched leak sounds, or the standard sniffer type which can snif r134, r12, r22,etc. I will only buy and own one such item due to the high price. My hobby is to fix household refrigeraters, household A/C, window units, automotive A/C. If you have used both types of units, can you recommend one type over the other, for my uses, and why?

Also, will the ultrasonic detector find leaks in natural gas lines, or is the line pressure to low to be be detected?
