I am wanting to redo my bedroom and I would like to incorporate my collection of items with Lighthouse Themes into this design. My thoughts are to repaint the white walls to maybe a dark red with a mural type picture of a light house. Basically I am looking for ways that can be accoplished and also just any creative ideas that others may have or places to look for bed linens, lighting, with this type of theme.
Thanks

Sounds like it's going to be a great room when you're done! A word of caution, red is a very difficult color to get right. You might want to consider painting some of the various boating flags as a background. I came across a great idea for using boat dock cleats for hooks, just screw them down on a board either up and down or side to side! Don't forget those portholes! Key colors within the nautical/lighthouse theme are blue (almost putty or teal blue), red, white, black, yellow (mainly from the flags but also the light beige color of ropes) and teak wood. I found some great resources for rugs, lighting, bed quilts, and wallpaper murals if you're not up to painting them! Here they are, and I hope your project is fun!

Why not forego the red paint.
Paint the lower half whitish(beach) and the upper half ocean blue.
Then just freehand your favorite lighthouse.

i did my son's room in a nautical/lighthouse theme. i used wallpaper though. i papered the bottom 1/3 with a faux "wood paneling" paper (very light beige), and the upper 2/3 in a navy/denim blue/barn red plaid. i put up a wooden chair rail between the two, and used a 12" lighthouse border at the very top (it looks like a watercolor painting). all the furniture is stained wood. on the windows i used a wood pole and hung floor-length tab-top denim curtains over 2" wood blinds. for wall decor, i've got a ship's wheel and several lighthouse prints, and a shadow box with samples of nautical rope knots inside. and on top of the dresser is a big sail boat (barn red hull & cream sail), and on his headboard is a big lighthouse (red & white striped). his sheets are white with red & blue stars, and his comforter is denim & navy. i painted his toybox the barn red. so it's basically shades of blue with touches of the red. it's absolutely adorable and everyone who sees it, loves it.
you shouldn't have trouble finding stuff for your room. lighthouse stuff is literally EVERYWHERE!!!
i like Fewalt's idea about the beige (beach) on bottom & light blue (ocean or sky) on top. that will be much lighter & calmer and more soothing than dark red walls! i think you'd be sorry if you went with the red. i've had my son's room done for 5 years & i'm still not tired of it. my advice: save the red for the accents.
