The 24volt transformer opened up on the primary side. Before this happened, just about every time the AC went on, the fan relay seemed to clunk on and off a few times before it went on solidly. Transformer blew, replaced, then 2 days later, it blew again. Any ideas?

There are a number of components in the system that can cause the transformer to open. It may be something simple but your best bet would be to call a reputable service company.
