HELP ! Air handler fan runs constantly--even when outside compresser shuts down, and even when switched to "off" at the thermostat. Only shutting off the power stops it, then when the power is back on, so is the fan. Also--cooling seems impaired or reduced, is this likely related or a separate problem? Thanks!

sounds like the fan relay is stuck.
or...is there a manual switch anywhere that might be in the on position for the blower?
the blower fan running contiuosly would just circulate the air all the time and not just when compressor is running.

look down on this board. The same problem was covered pretty well already.
tap on the fan relay, see if it causes fan to stop, when t.stat is in off position.
also, could be thermostat problem.
