new compressor was 2.5 ton, and Chrysler was 2 ton. Hasn't worked right yet. Recharged refrigerant, but continues to freeze. Works right for a couple hours/days then quits. Everything is fairly clean, and a new thermostat.

I dunno, I'm more inclined to guess that the new condensing unit has a leak or restricted air flow if it's iceing up. I see a lot of new C.U. attached to older air handlers, they don't get _perfect_ numbers, but they function at least as well as what they replaced should have.

Mr ron, look at what he is saying..... replaced a 2 ton with a two and a half ton... didnt say weather or not the metering device was changed...
