Carpentry and Woodworking - Cutting & installing crown molding

Hello,

I did a search on this thinking there would be many topics already (which there were). However, most of them seem to offer contradictory info. I have a few questions:

1) Do I use a compond mitre saw or just a mitre saw? (I have a compond one but the guy at Sears said I'd only need a plain mitre saw for crown molding.)
2) I have 5 inside and 1 outside corners in my room (all 90 degrees - or supposed to be). Do I cut them all the same?
3) Do I need a coping saw? Some older posts said yes, some said no.
4) Do I need to put a block behind the molding on the walls that run parallel to the ceiling joists? Or is nailing into the wall studs enough?
5) One post mentioned a 5 page tutorial in the Owner's Tuturial section of this site. I could not find this section of the site. Is this tutorial still available?

Thanks for all the help. Any other helpful suggestions is welcome. I've done other moldings before (window casements and chair rail) but this will be my first attempt at crown molding.
