I'm confused. I'm going to convert my garage into a family room and have read that I should prime and seal my foor, put down mastik and 15lb felt paper and a polyethene barrier. Is all of this necessary? If I'm building a level subfloor what exactly needs to go over the concrete pad to protect against moisture? what sealant and primer is recommended? What order would all of those components go?
I'm getting frustrated, but want to do it right.

What type of flooring are you wanting to put in?

Basically the subfloor will be about 8 inches off the floor so I can run ductwork for h/ac. We intend to install hardwood floors on top of the subfloor.
