I was wondering if my builder is telling the truth or just being lazy! We are building a new home and the builder has a slotted door for the laundry room. I think this is terrible due to the noise factor. He says it is because of code. Any clues? Any idea where I can get the answer should nobody here have an idea?
Thanks in advance for the help

If you are using a gas dryer there are minimum room sizes to ensure adequate air for combustion. For an electric dryer you need adequate air flow, but I am not aware of any requirement past what the appliance manufacturer might have.

Comes down to gas dryer or electric, and the size of the room. If you are doubting the builder, ask the inspector! THAT'S who has to approve whatever the builder does!!
