Hi, I'm putting laminate flooring on a concrete subfloor. My problem is I have steps going into the room. Two people have told me I can't put laminate flooring on the steps. Is there a way? I'm using Allegria glueless laminate.

When you install laminate on steps, you have to glue the planks to the step using a liquid nails type product.

Does that mean I don't use the plastic sheeting (moisture barrier) or foam on the steps? Can you specify the liquid nails product?

Thank you.

Are the steps wood or concrete? Do the stairs traverse lower or higher leaving the room (floor surface)? What surface do you have planned for the next level? Liquid Nails is a brand name for a particular construction adhesive.

The steps are concrete. The steps traverse higher leaving the room. We plan to tile the next level outside of the room.

Can I do laminate on concrete steps?

Thank you.

You can laminate concrete steps. Concrete holds moisture. You will have to be creative at the top of the stairs where you will transition to tile. Read your post as it applies to entrance and exit of the room and the change in elevation. Did I miss something?
