I saw a photo in a book or magazine of a retractable shower curtain rod. It only stuck out 6-8 or so on one side once retracted. Has anyone ever seen these or have a source of where to find one? I've done a long Google search to no avail. Thanks.

nkjezyk,

What you are asking is used for homes and RV's see the links below for 2 different types,

Doug, thanks for your reply and links. You're the only response I've gotten so far! Only problem is that these are retractable "tub and shower screens and enclosures". I'm actually only looking for a retractable (or telescoping) shower curtain "rod". Maybe such a thing doesn't even exist...I think what I'd seen in Fine Homebuilding magazine was a rigged-up project by the homeowner where the rod retracted into a pvc pipe on the other side of the wall (which I don't have the space to do). Oh, well! Thanks for your reply anyway!

Kate,

I am unaware of what you are describing but beyond the "retractable" doors, or the traditional stationary shower rod, you could always try this,

Unsure why you want the retractable type method for a shower curtain unless you just think the rod looks unsightly. Sorry I don't have any other ideas to help you on this one.

Hope this helps!
