Hello Everyone, i was thinking about buying a portable room heater for the house in an Emergency! I was looking at this one Model #MH9B. Has anyone ever used one of these and how long does a Propane tank last (1lb)? Also do you think it is pretty safe to use? Thanks Tom

If you cant vent it dont buy it. I have not use this unit but units like it are not made for a tight home. They are made for the big outdoors. I see a lot of states just say no to them ;) ED

This has a auto shutoff if the oxygen in the room gets to low!

The oxygen in the room is not the problem. Carbon Monoxide is produced by the burning of hydrocarbons. It 'sticks' to blood better than oxygen and tends to accumulate in the blood. People who die from carbon monoxide have bright red blood, but no oxygen. Buy a venting heater. Walking in to a room full of CO can kill you.

If you have a out side wall you can put it on .There is other companys but Williams wall furnace has one . Its a direct vent right out the wall there . Comes in 14 k to 30k BTU in. You ask how long on a tank would burn. Well I think Lp is about 92k btu per gal.;) ED

You would put the tank outside and pipe to the heater. You could get the 25lb tanks for this.;) ED

Good, i can also do that with the Mr Heater Buddy, i am a little concerned about it though, it seems to be made of plastic and i was told it is a special heat resisting coating, but i dont know? Dont like plastic around heaters!
