I am wanting to try and seperate a window unit air conditioning unit. In other words put the heat exchanger outside and put the cooling unit inside. I belive that all i need to do wouild be to cut the lines carrying the freon and solder on some exteneded lines.
My questions are what type of material should I use for the tubes. Also when it comes to refilling the unit with freon i was intested in knowing if any particular valvling would be nesscary or coiuld i get just any of my local hvac installers to refill it for me. Any help concerning what i am trying to do would be benefical. Thankyou

First if your not EPA you cant work on the units freon side or let it out in the air. I would say by the time your done with this it will cost you a lot more than to buy a new ac unit .For one thing the fan motor in them runs the inside and the out side fan. They do have ductless split systems that would work for what you want to do.;) ED
