So now we're updating the house we moved into this spring. One of the smaller interior jobs is the dining room walls. We have nice light stained oak panels up to the 3 foot level and then wallpapered above that.
I just sealed the wallpaper with PIGMENTED SHELLAC prior to skin floating the seams. Usually for texture I like to do a LIGHT DRAG with joint compound, but my wife says she doesn't think that would look good in this area and she would like to try the TEXTURED PAINT.
I haven't tried any of these in years. Each time I tried them I didn't have any success at all and just scraped off what I'd started.
Have any of you used the TEXTURES that are added to paint with any success? If so which brand? Did you use a light or heavy texture?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Frank

Most popular brand I have used is Bondex.
It is a sand type additive when mixed in paint and rolled on, you can use a 8" brush and give it a swirl or half circle pattern.
