I'm installing ceramic tile for the first time. I have a laundry room that has vinyl flooring . Can I lay wonderboard over the vinyl flooring or do I need to to rip out the vinyl flooring? thanks for your help.

I bought a video tape from a home improvement store about installing ceramic tile and it helped me trememdously. I was faced with the same concern as yours and you can install the tile right over the vinyl flooring, without using wonderboard. I did and I am happy with the results. It has been over a year and I haven't had any problems. If your home is a two story and you are installing the tile upstairs you will need to install hardi-backer first to the sub-floor. Good luck you your project.:)
