Hi and thanks ahead of time.

eJM you suggested in a previous thread to caulk poly sheet to the mud seal. What product, not brand, will adhere to the sheeting? I’ve tried a few different adhesives and they don’t adhere to the poly.

Thanks,

Spoony

Hi Spoony,

Although I suggested recently for someone to install a moisture barrier and attach it to the mud sill, I don't think I recommended using any kind of adhesive. I would just staple it to the mud sill. That's what I did to my own house.

Since I decided to store a few seasonal items down there (it's a 4' high crawl space), I discovered that stapling is fine as long as there's no traffic. I think I'm gonna have to wrap the edges in a thin firring strip (strips of wood about 1/4"x2" random lengths) and nail them to the mud sill with 4 penny nails. I did use some heavy duty black plastic sheeting (I think it was 10mil), so it will withstand walking on it a little, but it pulls the staples out when I get close to the edges.
