I looked online regarding 3 contractors.
1 had 1 complaint it said "One complaint has been processed by the Bureau in its three-year reporting period. The complaint was resolved. "
1 company had NO complaints
1 company was not listed with Better Business Bureau. Should this company not be used b/c of the fact that they are not listed with BBB or is it not critical?

I have never seen the value of being a member of the BBB. I will resolve any and all conflicts with my customer. I do not need to belong to an organization that I will never need. Ask your contractor for 10 or 12 references and call them all up. You will learn much about his way of doing business. That is all I ever do. And while you might say that I would not give out the name of an unhappy customer, you're right. I can't as I do not have any unhappy customers. Even if we part company, it is without animosity.
Get the job description in writing, firm price quote in writing, and constant communication with the contractor before and during the construction. The hardest problem to resolve is one that got off of paper and into your house before you noticed it.

IM WITH KEN ALL THE WAY . Ill send you to any and all customers
That we have done work for over the years. You talk to them and see we stand behind our work all the way. Like they say in the trade I've had to eat some jobs to make them work. Just ask that last company for some names that they worked for that will tell you to use them or not;) ED
