I have a 6' closet with bypass doors. They are cheap wood (luan?) veneer with a stain. They have top rollers and a small guide at the bottom center of the opening attached through the carpet. The carpet extends into the opening and under the doors.
I would like to replace the doors with some thing that looks better, but doesn't require major effort. I do not want stained doors or paint different than the existing room trim color. I would paint the doors, but do not believe that I could achieve a sufficient quality paint job.
I am left with top roller mirror doors with minimal or no hardware (including a bottom track) showing.
1) Any recommendations on brands to get or avoid?
2) Am I dreaming when I talk about top roller mirror doors? Are they heavy enough to require bottom rollers?
3) Part of my concern about a bottom track it the need to cut the carpet. Is this a big deal if I haven;t done it before?
4) I have seen some doors at Home Deopt with mirrored edges. Are there some things to watch out for with frameless doors?
Thanks for any adivse,
Joe

The problem with top roller doors is that they will swing if not stabalized at the bottom. Johnson Hardware has the best tracks and least obtrusive floor guides I have found.
