Is it possible to add trim- vinyl or some other material - to the frame of a vinyl sliding glass door to make the frame appear thicker? I realize the added trim would have to be pretty thin so the doors could slide over it. I imagine the trim could be adhered using silicone, then caulked and painted. Does anyone have an idea if this can be done or if it'll work? I'm trying to make our sliders look "like" french doors, i.e., appear to have thicker frames.

Thanks,
LN

Seems that by the time you have created the illusion of French doors, your time, money and effort would have been better spent on French doors.
