On your average Screen Storm door, I guess you could say, it was divided into three (3) basic pieces. The top piece, made of glass is stationary. The middle piece, (actually 2 pieces together, one piece is glass the other is screen) is where you raise and lower the window leaving the screen in place. The bottom piece is metal and is also stationary.
Is there a way that you can change the pieces that move ?
Problem is this. My dog is just tall enough to reach the center piece that I raise to let the breeze in through, and when the window is up she LOVES to stick her head through the screen. Which makes it almost impossible to open the window because of the big hole in the screen and bugs coming in. I'd LOVE to be able to open the top part and have the screen up there to let the breeze in, and so she can't reach it or stick her head in through it, instead of the middle. Is there a way I can do this on the door I already have ? Or do I need to get a whole new door ? I sure hope not ! How do I change the part that moves ? Thanks guys. 4u2

Is the screen aluminum or fiberglass? Screening comes in metals, such as: aluminum, stainelss steel, brass that might solve the problem with her tearing holes in fiberglass screen.

chfite,
The screen is the fiberglass kind. But we did have the aluminum kind in it too. By-the-way, she's a Chow, so I doubt that it'll make any difference in what kind of screen I use, might be wrong though. I've caught her chewing on rocks, the corners of the deck, doesn't really matter to her. She does have her own things to chew on too. And it's not just tearing holes in the screen, she just pushes it right out of the little track it sits in. Sticks her head in, checks to see what's going on, and pulls her head out. ;)
If I could just change the part of the door that moves, that would probably be the easiest and cheapest. Thanks for the help, 4u2
