I'm getting ready to build a deck above a concrete patio. I'll be using post anchors to attach the posts to the patio, and these will also keep the bottom of the posts an inch off the concrete. I would like to do something similar for the stringers, but just can't seem to think of anything. I'll be installing about 6 stringers for some wide steps, which will carry a lot of weight at times, and I don't like the idea of wood (even pressure treated) resting on concrete year round.
Any ideas?

I'm assuming that your stair stringers will be a 2X12. Where the attach to the framing of the deck, use a joist hanger (Simpson LU26, LU28, or similar). Where they would otherwise rest on the salb at the bottom, notch them and use the same post base that you are using for the rest of the deck, with a small 4X4 post in the post base. Simply half-lap it to the stringer.
