Has anyone had any luck with fabric wall coverings (rumor has it Glidden makes one) or heavier wall paper that would cover plaster?

Thanks.

If you are talking about bridging material, you can get more information in the wallpaper section. Bridging material is a form of wallpaper designed to restore a wall to a usable form. It provides a paintable surface.

1914 house....plaster walls. I would love to cover them with fabric and paint. I LOVE plaster as a building material and have already been down the road looking at alternatives. They kill sound, are excellent insulation (cool and hot), they retard fire, they are SOLID. These are anyway. Can't speak for all plaster.

In some areas of the house, the owners used a heavy heavy paper...almost fabric. And I think that some wallpaper in the house is very appropriate given its architecture.

And I don't like white walls.
:)

Just a personal preference I guess.

Sounds like bridging material or possibly a fabric. Visit Cavalier Prints (http://www.wallliner.com/) for their wall liners. You can call them as well and have them give you a recommendation as they have many different types. Their liners are designed to be papered over or painted. They will be out of town this week and weekend as they are at the Wallpaper Installer's Convention that Hurricane Isabel forced me NOT to be at!!!

What a great find! I'll link your answer to our site and to the gang at the American Bungalow Magazine forum. We're always looking for these great resources!

Take good care--

P.s. Sorry about the hurricane...
