I have a panel board in my bathroom. This is a smooth surface which is begining to peel the top layer away due to water damage at the bathtub faucets. To resolve this problem, I am going to put up ceremic tile around the bathtub.
Is it ok to go on top of this panel board with the masonite, then the tiles?

As with most projects, it will pay off in the long run to start off right. In your case, tearing the wall down to the studs and starting from there will give you a better product in the end.
