ON AUGUST OF 2002 MY HUSBAND AND I PURCHASED OUR HOME. BEFORE WE MOVED THE SELLER HAD THE HOUSE PAINTED, HOWEVER, THE PEOPLE WHO PAINTED THE HOUSE DID NOT TAPE OFF THE WOOD TRIM. SO, THERE IS PAINT ON ALL OF THE WOOD TRIM, BASEBOARDS, ETC. NOW WE ARE GETTING READY TO START RENOVATIONS, BEGINNING WITH THE NURSERY. RIGHT NOW THE WALLS ARE OFF WHITE. BUT, WE ARE PAINTING THE NURSERY SKY BLUE. NOW, THE OFF WHITE PAINT ON THE TRIM IS REALLY GOING TO BE NOTICEABLE. MY QUESTION TO YOU IS SHOULD WE REMOVE THE OFF WHITE PAINT OFF ALL THE TRIM BEFORE WE BEGIN TO PAINT OF AFTER. AND THEN, HOW DO WE REMOVE THE PAINT WITHOUT DAMAGING THE WOOD.

You could just repaint the trim and solve the problem. It would be unnecessary to remove the paint.
If the trim is stained, you might be able to remove the paint spatters with Goof Off without harming the finish on the stained trim.
Hope this helps.
