I am looking at replacing 9 windows in my home I have received a bid from uniframe (GraetLalkes) for about $13k. 7 Windows are going to be what they say is R-10. 4 windows are about 60x48 they will be triple pane. The other 2 windows are a rectangle shape that will be R-5 they are 60x60x60 they will be double pane. The other 3 are 48x58 and they will be triple pane. Does anyone know anything about the company Great lakes and how does the product compare with others?


Help I have two days to cancel or live with it!!!!

1) Cancel the contract.
2) Get more quotes.
3) Make another choice.

The prices you received are just tooooooooooo high for what you're getting. Start over again. Take a while to read this forum every day for a couple weeks. It will be time well spent and it's free.

9 windows for 13K??

Man, I live in the wrong part of of the country AND I'm working for beans!!

Just started a job that is 10 windows PLUS resizing a 10' slider to an 8' slider -- my price a 1/3 of what you were quoted! The next job is 15 windows and a slider. That one is bigger -- it's up to 5K!!

Cancel the contract and keep shopping!!

Forget the triple pane -- use LowE or LowE squared glass. If you are in a REALLY cold climate (Maine, N. Dakota, etc.), MAYBE consider argon.
