Hi,
Could someone tell me if this is possible to do? We are having new sliding glass doors installed and they will be vinyl. They're nothing fancy, just basic white vinyl sliders. I really wanted to get the french rail style- which is basically a sliding glass door that looks more like a french door. But we couldn't afford those. So what I'm wondering is if it would be possible to buy some trim and add it to the frames (the area immediately surrounding the glass) of the doors to get the look I want? I am thinking we could adhere the trim to the glass using silicone and then caulk and paint. I know the trim would have to be very thin so that the door can slide open unobstructed. Can I do this and if so, what material should the trim be and where should I purchase it? Can it be cut with a regular chop saw or something else?
Thanks for your advice,
LN
