Hi,
can anyone provide any tips on troubleshooting leaks around windows? I have what look like cracks in the drywall that run down from the bottom corners of many of the window sills in my house. This is hidden behind wallpaper and has evidenced itself by a wrinkling in the paper. My house was built in 1950 and the windows are aluminum. Is there anyway to tell if the source of the leak is above the window or within it? Thanks,
-Brian

Hard to say without a visual inspection....but with aluminum windows, it could also be condensation damage from water forming on them in cold weather. IF you don't see dampness during the spring thru fall, it's probably winter condensation that is the problem.
The solution it to replace with a better material...ie, vinyl or wood.
