HELP I HAVE A RYOBI STRING TRIMMER THAT IS A YEAR OLD.
I WAS TRIMMING WEEDS THE OTHER DAY AND THE ENGINE STARTED TO CUT OUT, BY MOVING THE CHOKE TO HALF IT WOULD CONTINUE TO RUN. AFTER THE ENGINE COOLED DOWN THE DARNED THING WOULD NO START AT ALL. I CHANGED THE SPARK PLUG, CLEANED THE AIR FILTER GOT NEW GAS NOTHING HELPED. I EVEN CHECKED THE SCREEN IN THE CARB. AND THE NEEDLE VALVE.

It may be your coil, check for spark. If you have spark, than it may be a carb problem. Also check to make sure the gass lines are not clogged, make sure you see gass flowing properly in the lines.

Hello John!
Sounds to me like one of three things. Either you have a fuel related problem (cracked or pinched fuel line, carb problems, fuel filter clogged, air leak, etc...), or is it possible that the gas used did not have oil added? You might check the cylinder walls for scoring, and check to make sure the muffler is not clogged.
