Quick question - I flipped the door on one of my rooms and now have the carved out slots where the hinges were and the latch hole in the frame. Spackle would probably be the easiest, but I'm afraid it might not hold. Would plastic wood be better or does anyone have another suggestion?
Thanks in advance for any help

I have made this repair by using a very thin piece of plywood the same thickness as the depth of the hinge mortise. I just cut it to size, glued & tacked it into position, filled the remaining gaps with wood filler, sanded and painted. Looks fine.
