I'm doing some sheetrocking over old walls, and I'm wondering what the sheetrock "R" value is. I'm using 3/8" sheetrock. I'm also interested in soundproofing. Other than using glue rather than screws, I saw a product advertised called "Quietrock" that is for soundproofing. Does anyone have experience with these?

1" gypsum board is 1.2; Resistance "R" for 3/8" board is 0.32; for 1/2" board 0.45; for 5/8" board 0.56; and for 1" board 0.83.
Both glue and screws tend to be recommended when installing sheetrock.
