Hey folks. What kind of variance do these coils have? What I mean is, how many hp can you go up? Same electronic coil work on an 8 hp or 4 hp engine that works on a 3 hp engine?

Hello boman, Briggs 3 HP coil will fit 3, 3.5, 3.75 and newer 4HP. 5HP vertical and horizontal each use different coils due to the difference in the mounting posts and fit no other engine that I know of. 8HP through 15.5HP single cylinder use a common coil. The only difference I know of in any of these coils is the mounting post and the curve of the armature where it meets the flywheel.

Rarest coil in my area......5HP horizontal. Go karters snap them up as fast as we can find them.......Mike
