Dear Sir ,
I have a fireplace in an old house . The Fireplace be situated on a wooden floor . Five months ago , I reconstructed the floor and I saw that the part of the floor ( logs ) which was under the fireplace , was smoulder . So , I have to apply something on the down part of the fireplace ( bricks ?) , because I want to protect the floor from the high temperature of the fire .

Could you suggest me a sulution ?

Best Regards

You need to build up the firebox "floor" with layers of fire bricks and mortar by a qualfied mason.
If it is old, you also may need a new chimney liner. Have it inspected by a qualified fireplace inspector or mason with a video camera.
Good Luck!

Usually at least 12" here. Don't know centimeters. Check with a mason. Good Luck!
