I had a smoke guard installed and the glue strip that holds it up is melting away. Now the guard is constantly slipping down and falling off. It has a spring rod in the center and the guard panel expands, which helps to keep it fitting tight, but the guard gets bumped and falls down. Can you tell me what the rubbery glue might be called? I didn't see them install the guard, so i don't know if the adhesive came in a tube, or as a strip of material.
Thank you,
Thank you,

Raquelita,
These are usually applied with a heat resistance adhesive caulk.
Those that work well are,
Dow Corning® 736 Heat Resistant Sealant
Rutland heat resistant silicone sealant forms a tough, rubbery adhesive seal that withstands 450 F. continuously and 500 F. intermittently.
Cost is about $10 - $15 per 10 oz tube.
Hope this helps!
