I need to add greenboard to my bathroom walls where I removed the tile. There is plaster on wallboard already above the area where I will put the greenboard and I would like to mate it and then apply venitian plaster to the whole wall. can I plaster over the greenboard with out problems? Any specail material or techniques needed?

What brand of venetian plaster are you using? Make sure you shim the wall flush with the existing wall. It may be more than 1/2" so you want it as straight as possible.

The reason I asked what brand is there may be a bonding issue. If you are using venetian plaster finish from home depot or a paint store then don't worry, it will stick no problem. Also since its in a bathroom you will want to put the sealer over it. Is this your first time using Venetian Plaster? I do it all the time and can give you some tips.
