I'd really appreciate a response to this query.... So, we live in an older home (20's-30's) and under the wood paneling, there's damaged plaster. Does this plaster contain asbestos?? If so, can I just staple new wire lathe over it and plaster up a new face, tinted with a color perhaps? Thank you so much for your time and consideration with my situation. Ciao! James

More then likely it does not contain asbestos. I would not advise putting up the metal on top of the current plaster. I would suggest fixing th current plaster or putting up drywall over the top of the plaster. Don
