I just got done texturing a wall. Boy am I glad that is done.:d It looks good. I did rent a sprayer to get the match on the "splatter and knock down in the room". I need to know if I should use a primer. I would like to use a laytex primer. I was also told that a flat paint will work just as well. A gallon of flat white will cost almost as much as primer. Any recomendations. Thanks

Warrior,

Congradulations on the results. I suggest primer rather then paint, and latex is preferred. Primer isn't paint, and paint isn't primer. Paint is not for first coats, it does not have the sealing properties of primer, and that is what you need for your texture base. For paint I would suggest a high quality ceiling paint for a knock down texture. The brightness of the ceiling white will really highlight your knock down work. Congrats again.
