I have an older home with plaster walls. I had "skim coated" a room and painted about 5 years ago. Now, for some reason, the paint is peeling off in an area. Also, there seems to be some type of seepage or small stain on that area. I have checked and there is no leakage from outside. Now I'm at a loss as to what to do. Do I rescrap the ceiling and wall and reskim coat it and then paint? Does anyone ever have a problem with getting stains on their plaster walls from something which is not caused by water or liquid seepage from somewhere? Is it just a stain?
