I power washed it last year, but it took me forever. Is there anything I can spray on it to kill it that won't siscolor my red brick?

Hi! I like my moss but weh it gets out of control and slippery I pour boiling water on it (brick patio). This method won't hurt my dog and kids, too like any chemical solutions might.

That would take about 100 gallons of boiling water. I have no kids or animals.

bleach will do it for sure and its cheap but try it on a small area to see if it affects brick color,I don't think it will. there are commercial products, have you tried your local nursery or done a "google" search using keywords kill moss? I came up with lots of suggestions there. (you could rent my dog, his pee kills moss ) LOL

For control of moss, mold, and mildew on patios, it is hard to beat a solution of bleach 25% in water with a dash of tide. Wet the surface, add some solution, let it sit for a few minutes then hit it with a brush or broom to agitate it and loosen the material. Then rinse thoroughly. You can do this prophylactically every few weeks and avoid the accumulation altogether. Keep the exposure short, and there should not be any problems with discoloration.

Be sure to rinse thoroughly from anything it gets on.

Hope this helps.
