We are getting ready to pour a driveway approximately 150' long with a 42' pad near the garage. When we built our house, we had several bricks left over. I wanto to use these bricks to outline our driveway and also to seperate the concrete sections. Can anyone suggest the best way to do this without it giving me problems in the future?

I imagine that you are using a contractor to pour that much concrete. If so, why not bring it up to him? He might be pretty accommodating on a job this size.

We have one that is working with us but he is againt using the brick. He thinks over the long run it just won't last.

I hate it when someone tells me I can't do something! In my town there are many concrete drives framed with brick and some are inlaid w/ them.. and they're not those super-thick street bricks, either. I don't know how to get their pics on this site but did a search on internet...there ARE contractors with the knowledge and skill to do this right, maybe you need to find one! http://www.crosstownconcrete.com/page64.htm and http://www.concreteonline.com/forum/message.aspMessageID=1787 Also a monthly coupon-type flyer we get features a paving co. that does what you wish, a picture is on their ad of a concrete and brick drive. It can be done, hold out for what you want!
